Our online Standard 11 Surface course is for anyone looking to start working on a Queensland surface coal mine. It's designed for people new to the industry, career changers coming from other trades, and workers whose previous Standard 11 has lapsed beyond the refresher window.
You'll learn the safety knowledge and practical skills needed on site, including mine safety protocols, risk management, hazard identification, emergency response and first aid. Complete the training online at your own pace, then finish with a video assessment with one of our trainers.

On successful completion, you'll receive a Statement of Attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework, issued on the day of your trainer assessment. It's nationally recognised and required for access to Queensland surface coal mines. A refresher is required every five years to keep it current.

A Standard 11 Surface & Underground Statement of Attainment listing all seven competencies above, either current or recently expired
A recent supervisor (someone who has directly supervised your work on site) to complete and sign a third-party verification report
Valid photo ID
A Unique Student Identifier (USI), free from usi.gov.au
To be at least 18 years old
A reliable internet connection.

S11 surface & UNDERGROUND - ONLINE Refresher only

Our online G189 Mining Supervisor course gives you the skills and knowledge to step into a supervisor role on a Queensland mine site. You'll learn to identify and manage risk, and to lead health and safety investigations, with practical tasks based on real site scenarios.
Also known as the S123, S1 S2 S3 or G1 G8 G9. Complete it 100% online at your own pace, from home or between rosters.

On successful completion, you'll receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework, qualifying you to be appointed as a supervisor on Queensland mine sites.

This course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively undertake the role of a Supervisor.
Participants will gain the expertise required to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Supervisor, including risk identification, implementation of risk management strategies, and conducting health and safety investigations.
Designed for existing supervisors and those wanting to upskill into a supervisory role.
G189 Mining Supervisor - online FUll Course

Our online G2 Risk Facilitator course builds the skills to lead the risk management process on a mine site, from identifying hazards and assessing risk through to putting controls in place and checking they work.
Many sites require the G2 for senior supervisors, deputies and anyone facilitating formal risk assessments, and it's often completed alongside the G189 Mining Supervisor course. Study 100% online at your own pace, from home or between rosters.

Participants will gain the expertise required to identify hazards, assess risks, implement controls, and monitor risk management outcomes.
This competency is a statutory requirement for certain roles under mining legislation, and is increasingly required for anyone in a supervisory capacity.
